Welcome to the Trauma in Women Hub

Trauma is not just about dramatic events. It can come from years of being pushed past your limits, not being believed, carrying other people’s crises, or never having enough space to feel and rest. Many women live with trauma quietly while still working, caregiving, studying, parenting, and supporting others.

This page is a gentle starting point. Rather than giving you everything at once, it offers clear options so you can choose the topic that fits where you are today – whether that’s understanding trauma responses, exploring experiences of abuse and safety, thinking about healing and recovery, or finding crisis support.

You do not have to read everything. You are allowed to dip in and out, come back later, or skip anything that doesn’t feel right for you right now.

If This Page Feels Heavy

Sometimes just seeing words like “trauma” or “abuse” can bring up feelings, even if you don’t read the details. If you notice your body tightening or your thoughts racing, it’s okay to pause here.

  • Look around and name 3 things you can see that feel neutral or comforting.
  • Place a hand on your chest or over your heart and take a slow, gentle breath out.
  • Remind yourself: “I am allowed to go at my own pace. I am not alone in feeling this way.”
